If you have a question about your garage door and you're looking for an expert to answer it then you've come to the right place. Take a look at our FAQs below.
Do garage door springs require maintenance?
Both torsion and extension springs could use some maintenance and it’s as simple as cleaning them with a cleaner and then applying lubricant. It’s totally fine to spray excess lubricant on the springs which would help protect the metal. The recommended frequency is twice a year.
What are the common garage door sizes?
Sectional doors can usually be ordered from 7- to 12-foot tall and 8- to 20-foot wide. The size of these pull-up doors is constrained by the weight. It would be too heavy to lift if overly large. That’s why sometimes you’ll see 3-car garages carved-up for three separate doors.
What is the quietest type of garage door opener?
If you are concerned with noise above all else, you should avoid openers that use a chain drive system. These are usually the loudest. Belt-drive opener models, on the other hand, are far quieter. They operate similarly but use a steel-reinforced rubber belt instead of a chain. This makes them virtually silent.
